Rhizome - Ginger

A rhizome is a horizontal stem of a plant that is found underground, usually sending out roots and shoots from its noods. Rhizomes are also called "creeping rootstalks" or "rootstocks". If a rhizome is separated into multiple pieces, each piece can give rise to a new plant. This is a version of vegetative reproduction.
