The House of the Scorpion

In this science fiction novel, The House of Scorpion by Nancy Farmer, a clone named Matt struggles with the belated knowledge that he is considered less than human.  Book Club members (2010-11) stated that "the plot was really creative and drew the reader into the alternative world created in the story."  In addition, they said it does a good job of raising moral issues relating to the cloning of humans.  A quote from the book:  "He was in a rage to learn.  He would excel, and then everyone would forget he was a clone."
