The High School South Girl's Golf Team was formed as a school club during the Spring of 2005 by the dedication of Ms. Pat McDermott. The following year, girl's golf was accepted as a varsity spring sport. With the retirement of Ms. McDermott in 2008, Mrs. Michelle Walsh assumed the position of head coach. In honor of Ms. McDermott, the McDermott Cup was created in 2009. To win the cup, there is a competition between High School South and High School North (the cross-town rival in the same school district). The High School South Girl's Golf Team practices 4 days a week at the Cranbury Golf Club in West Windsor. Tryouts are in early March.
