For Teachers

The High School North Media Center is available throughout the school day for teachers to reserve.  This allows teachers to utilize HSN Media Center facilities to effectively complete text or computer-based research, class activities, or other productive pursuits.

Lessons are available on the following topics:
Databases (ABC-CLIO, Britannica, EBSCOhost, JSTOR, NoodleTools, etc.)
MLA 8 (Format and/or citation help)
      Website Evaluation
      Parenthetical Citation
      Determining Fake News
      Developing a Thesis

Other services:
Book cart selection by genre or topic
      Book Tasting activity
General help with research (an extra hand in the research process)

Teachers should meet with the Media Specialist prior to their planned arrival date to reserve the Media Center facilities and to discuss activities and needed resources. Let me know how I can help!

Subject Area teachers, please write passes in order to provide your students research opportunities.

How to Schedule a Visit:

Use the link for the Media Center Sign Up
Click on the day and period you’d like to visit.  Type your last name and which area of the library you’d like to use (ex. Carroll-whiteboard, Carroll-tables).  We can hold two classes in the library at once so it is important that you add what you’re using!

NoteThis will save automatically and is checked daily.  Please delete your name if you need to cancel/reschedule as soon as you realize your need.  The days do fill up quickly so it’s best to plan in advance.  You can also sign up for after-school use if necessary.
