The Media Center acts as the information hub of High School North. Here students will find a multitude of resources to aid in their research. 

Hours:   7:35 AM - 4:00 PM

Students now have the opportunity to use Self Checkout stations to sign out books.  The self checkout stations are located on the circulation desk.

Front DeskThe Media Center is open throughout the day.  Students may obtain passes in the lower dining study hall to come to the library during their study halls. (As space permits.)Students may also visit the Media Center during lunch. The Media Center is open for individual research and group study after school until 3:55 pm. 


Rules and Procedures

Media Center Passes and Sign In

  • All students wishing to use the Media Center during their study hall should report first to their study hall and secure a pass from the lower dining study hall supervisor. 
  • Upon entering the Media Center, students must use their ID to sign into Turnstile.
  • Please pay special attention to the White Board/Easel outside the Media Center for any closed periods due to classes.

Expected Behavior

The Media Center at High School North provides a relaxing environment for independent study and electronic research.

  1. The Media Center is to be maintained as an orderly academic area for quiet individual work.
  2. All students using the Media Center are expected to follow and respect school rules and the rights of their fellow students.
  3. Students arriving from study hall must have a Media Center pass which must be presented at the circulation desk.
  4. Food and drink are not permitted in the Media Center.
  5. Students who cannot abide by the above rules will be asked to leave the Media Center. A repeated warning will result in the loss of Media Center privileges.

Five desktop computers are available for students to print assignments. 

Copy Machine
A copy machine is available for student use. Students are permitted to make 10 copies.

Chromebook Help
Students that need technical help can bring their Chromebook to the Media Center to fill out a Technology Ticket.  Students will leave their Chromebook at the Media Center to be fixed.  


Students are encouraged to incorporate a variety of media in their research and projects.  Therefore, the Media Center is equipped to provide students individual workstations to work with such media.  (Students should see a member of the media staff to request and schedule such equipment.)
